I don't do anything fancy here. I like simple. There is so much business that goes on that I like simple quite play.
I couldn't help but notice this little guy. He entertained himself with a new way to swing. As long as he was safe and watched out for others he enjoyed his new way of swinging.
Most times our meals are quite. Once they start talking they get silly and messes get made. As long their conversation is pleasant I won't say anything and just listen. It's so sweet listening to them. They talk about their weekend, what they did last night or upcoming events.
I could take pictures all day of how these kidlins play. They have such freedom and joy. I listen to their conversations and think how grown up they sound. Even at play they will use polite words. I do encourage this. We do a redo. Could you say that nicer? Sometimes I'll give them the words and other times it's on their own. So love playtime.
We were all waiting for the rain. Instead of running inside when the rain came we stayed outside and played in the rain. So much laughter was heard in the rain. Not often we get to play in the rain. Oh the joys of being a child.
The kidlins were thrilled that they could start picking beans.
I love that they have the freedom to pick the beans on their own. I did have to show them how big the beans should be but after that they were on their own.
The first pickings I needed to watch over. So much excitement over beans. So we washed them, counted them out evenly and found a spot to munch away.
I was one happy lady when I found these.
Dean and I went on an afternoon date to a fleet market. We decided to go to farm implement store we have never been to. I was ecstatic when Dean asked if this is what I was looking for and pointed out that there were 4. I grabbed all of them.
The Kidlins love them.
Now there are days we get stuck inside when it rains. But there are times we have to let loose and just run in it.
Can't forget to take a dash through a puddle or two.
Now the kidlins have been building trust to have some play time out of the fence. I laid out the guidelines on how far their were to go. Playing ball, riding bikes and even picking up branches from a storm.
All in all we have been busy having fun.
The boys got busy with an entrance for the trucks. Pretty wobbly structure but they were determined.
We have had some rainy days. That means we are inside. But of plenty to do.
The kidlins wanted to take a hand at squeezing their own portion of catsup. Not bad until they used more catsup before asking me if there was any more tots. Lucky catsup is cheap. It makes me wonder how much these kidlins can pack it away.
The water source has been a big enjoyment. Plenty of cooking being done with it. Of course just getting wet. Water painting every surface. Also added some hoses. Plenty of sucking and blowing water.
They are also learning how to control the flow of water. I have personally gotten wet from all the experiments. All in good fun.
There have been many races run. We are learning to be good sportsman. This is not an easy task with young children. To nourish young minds and hearts of how to be good losers and winners can be a challenge.
I encourage this by everyone shaking hands, congratulating the winner, thanking the looser for a good race and that they had fun.
Lessons in progress.
I couldn't help watch this little lady. She was so into her play. Taking water and transporting it into a bread pan. Her form of measurement was taking her hand and feeling the level of water.
There is a lot of math and science going on here.
Filling her jug, the weight of water she needs to carried to fill her pans and then the volume of each pan being measuring with her fingers.
A child's play learns many lessons.
Many plans are being made here. Busy work if all kinds. Habitats for animal life are created. Another relaxing spot of sitting with a shovel digging a hole.
I don't of person that didn't have a childhood without a swing. Many memories are made sitting on a swing. A relaxing seat.
The mud kitchen has been a busy place this summer. Something is always cooking. Wait till the veggies start to grow. I won't be able to stop them. I do love watching them sit in their little spots munching on their harvest.
A group of the kidlins wanted to get this tube up on the rope to slide down. So they had to figure out how. It took awhile and some muscle but they did it. Along came praises to each other for working together and taught of playtime.
I get a big kick out of the kidlins. Every summer we find the same critters, life and gardening. And every summer they act like it's a new discovery, lol.
We needed to prep our flower & veggie beds and planted. They are growing beautifully. It's trying to keep them from eating something that isn't there and just watch it grow.
Keeping the kidlins from catching every critter and crushing them from excitement. Encouraging them to just observe is so hard to do.
I believe that babies need just as much fresh air and sunshine as older children. So when they aren't napping they are with us in the great outdoors. They don't nap very well out here so every waking moment is outside.
They are discovering grass. They pull hand fulls out. If I put water in the trays of the bouncers they like to fiddle with that also.
Someone is always stopping to say hi.
There was one day that our little miss just was not happy. So after trying every trick, I decided to take her outfit off and lay her on the round swing until she fell asleep. She slept comfortably in the crib. The things we don't do for our little people.
Helper Dean decided over one weekend to level out the driveway. So on Monday we went around to pick up the big rocks. In no time the kidlins worked together and pick them up.
Along the way we found a few grasshoppers. Of course you just can't walk by. It's a must to stop and watch. We see them every year and every year it's a new discovery, lol.
The babies are getting out more now that summer is here.
Had a busy day today. We all went to the field and got dirt for the flower beds, started planting and set up trellises. Took time to run in the field and wheelbarrow ride. Beautiful day.
I love the fact that I hear more and more giggles as we spend time outside. The fresh air does wonders.
These 2 got so excited that they had the same shirt on.
