Yes, I let children go up the slide. These boys learned a lot from this type of play. Safety is one. You could hear them guiding each other as not to pinch fingers or hold on here and go slow. Children don't want to get hurt and learn real fast what does them harm. Trust your children to know how to play after you have taught them what safety is. Plenty of physical strength also. This type of play works on those large motor skills that are much needed for growing bodies. This play alone lasted 45 mins., yes I have a watch on. With all this fresh air they ate great and napped great.
The boys formed chain of bodies down the slide. It was a bundle of laughs from this activity. Yes, I let children go up the slide. These boys learned a lot from this type of play. Safety is one. With all this fresh air they ate great and napped great. Some of 1 year olds don't take a morning nap but need some quite time. So when I tell them to have pillow time the know exactly what I mean. Sometimes they fall asleep and sometimes they don't.
With the weather being so questionable we have had some indoor play. No time goes to waste. Every kidlin keeps busy. How excited they all were when H. Dean brought in the shop vac. The things it can pick up. Each kidlin had a turn at using it. H. Dean even did a hair style for each child. They were thrilled that they could use a tool that isn't normally something they can use. The PVC pipes have been a daily hit. The kidlins are trying which cars fit through. Adding a few pieces of duct tape to have different angles. They all get excited when it works in great surprise. H. Dean wanted to try some sticky fun. He took strips of duct tape across some chairs. It was to see what toys stuck to the tape. I love how something as simple as this can last for hours. 2 hours to be exact. Dinner stopped because of the cable guys. Just as we all sat down, said grace and took a few bites the kidlins were in awe of the big machines in our front lawn. The phone company installed cable lines. So we put Dinner on hold. Went on to the deck to watch the show. I think the cable guys got just as much of a kick out of the kidlins watching them as the kidlins wanted to watch them. To say the least Dinner was delayed for awhile. What is it about swings? There is some kind of comfort about a swing set. One of our newest kidlins finds a soothing relief on the swing. She is an emotional girl. But once she gets on a swing her tension is released. Then there is the bonds of friendship that is formed. Giggles are heard with chatter of little voices talking away. Let's not forget the physical fitness. Great strength, balance and muscle toning. All necessary for growing bodies. I especially like the sway of sitting on the swing feeling the breeze across my face and the sun shinning on my face. The love of a swing set. So what happens after a nice rainfall? You send all the kidlins out to play and they find any rain spot they can. What fun they had. We picked up a wagon for around here. Thought it would be nice to have a heavy duty one for the little ones when we go for walks or just carrying stuff to the playground. So H. Dean and the 3 older kidlins set to work and put it together. It took awhile. By the time you open the box, read the directions, look through the pieces, gather the tools and assemble the wagon 2 hours goes by real fast. Think of all the skills that went into this project. Pretty proud of the project and team work. |
